Hello, All!
Thanks to all that attended our July meeting at Fair Trade Coffee. For those of you who missed it, we discussed what Oxfam Action Corps is all about, the Grow Campaign, and some things that we are hoping to do this year.
We hope to see you all at our next meeting, August 9th at 7pm at Fair Trade Coffee on State Street. Please check our Facebook page for updates on the meeting, as well as other opportunities to get involved! (link below)

In a global news, we would love it if you would take a moment to learn a little about the need for greater regulation of global arms trading. A massive and poorly regulated global trade in arms and ammunition continues to threaten the security and rights of countless people around the world, exposing them to death, rape, assault, and displacement. Caught in the continuous conflict this illicit trade feeds, poor countries are squandering the resources that their citizens need for basic services like clean water and education.
Here is a little more information below (accompanied by an easy to follow graphic), and more can be found on the Oxfam America website.

Lend your voice to something that can help save lives by following the link below. Ask President Obama to make the Arms Trade Treaty bulletproof! President Obama and his negotiating team need to hear from you: tell them you want a robust arms trade treaty that puts human rights first. It only takes a few minutes.
