Janet van Zoeren is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Entomology at the University of Wisconsin. She is studying agricultural pest control, with especial interest in integrating ecological, landscape, cultural and chemical controls to provide the most effective and most affordable pest control. Having spent a lot of time working on farms and in the commercial agriculture system, she has an interest in continuing this passion by learning about and taking action on broader policy and logistics issues regarding feeding America. After all this time spent indoors thinking, it is time to get outside and lace up those running shoes – for that reason Janet is encouraging people to raise money and awareness during three local races – StrawberryFest in Sun Prairie, the Full Moon Run in Madison, and the Haunted Hustle in Middleton. I’ll see you on the trails!
